Importing, Exporting & Customs Compliance – the good, the bad & the ugly workshop 2018

In this seminar we will cover a variety of import/export issues including documentation, Incoterms, use of brokers, types of insurance, harmonized codes, country of origin, and marking.  We will also cover the area of TDG shipments, wood packaging, US customs and export controls. In addition, we will review the five modes of transportation, focusing on streamlining the process, reducing expenses, and solving our local Saskatchewan specific problems.

Day two of the workshop includes situational exercises/cases on importing and exporting. The intention for the majority of our time will be to engage in a round table discussion, so bring your challenges, problems and questions for the group and a customs expert.   **Then there is NAFTA.  We will talk about what is current at that time, changes to – or if it even exists and what that means.  The three nations have vowed to continue talks on the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) through March, but the disagreements on core U.S. demands are piling pressure on negotiators to come up with fixes before Mexico’s 2018 presidential campaign begins in the spring. It is going to get interesting!
